About ISBE

The Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) is the UK’s largest and most well established network for individuals and organisations involved in small business and entrepreneurship research, enterprise support and advice, entrepreneurship education and for those who formulate, deliver and evaluate policy in this area.
With more than 30 years experience, over 500 members, a network of over 4,000 associates and a strong and relevant board, ISBE is at the forefront of developments in this sector. As a charitable institute ISBE seeks to make a valuable contribution to, and engage with, all elements of the entrepreneurial community.
What does ISBE do?
- Hosts an annual conference which for over 32 years has been known as the place to go for the highest quality cutting edge research and stimulating debate and discussion on relevant, contemporary issues regarding the small business and enterprise field.
- Provides a network of experts from across the various fields of entrepreneurship and small business
- Hosts regional and national events and workshops
- Produces publications including: The Monthly Bulletin which keeps members updated on the latest news and upcoming events; a quarterly e-magazine Enterprising Matters and ISBE Emerald Book Series (Launch 2009)
- Provides, through the ISBE RAKE Fund, support for new research activities undertaken by academic, support, advice and third-sector communities as well as organisations, consultants and practitioners involved in small business and enterprise
- Promotes knowledge and expertise in small business and entrepreneurship through our activities, publications and the ISBE panel of experts
- Stimulates innovation through research, networking and sharing of best practice
