Professor David Rae

Professor David Rae (M.Ed MCMI MCIPD) is a leader, researcher and practitioner in academic enterprise. Prior to joining the University of Lincoln in 2006 as Professor of Business & Enterprise to become Director of Lincoln Business School’s Enterprise Research & Development Unit (ERDU), he led the development of enterprising learning at the University of Derby as Director of Enterprise Development, and previously at Nottingham Trent University he led the team which developed The Hive. He has published two books on entrepreneurship, the most recent being, ‘Entrepreneurship – from opportunity to action’. This offers a radical new approach to entrepreneurial learning.

He holds a PhD in Entrepreneurial Learning from the Nottingham Trent University, and his innovative research has been recognised through numerous publications and seven awards for research excellence in the past four years. He  has been involved with the Learning for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Education ISBE conference track as leader and advisor since 2007 and is currently ISBE Vice-president for education. David has over 20 years experience in enterprise, running a small business, consulting, organisational development and research, and acts as a judge for the National Business Awards in the UK.
