About Us
Dr Denise Fletcher

Dr Denise Fletcher is Director of Research at the Centre for Regional Economic and Enterprise Development, University of Sheffield Management School. Her work focuses on the contribution that narrative, ethnographic and social constructionist ideas have for deepening understandings of how and why entrepreneurial practices occur. This thinking is applied to teaching and research on small and family organisations in a range of entrepreneurship courses.
Denise edited the book 'Understanding the Small Family Business' (2002) and has published in a variety of entrepreneurship and organisation journals. Her current research focuses on two areas: the entrepreneurial aspirations of cohabiting couples or sibling partners in the creation of new business ventures; and the absorptive nature of entrepreneurial occupations.
