Message from the President

Colette Henry

It was simply fantastic to see you all in Liverpool for our 2009 Conference; I do hope you enjoyed it. As you know, this year’s conference was organized slightly differently to its predecessors, being entirely informed and managed by the ISBE community. I think you’ll agree that our new in-house conference team did a superb job, coordinating a record number of abstracts, scheduling over 240 paper presentations, offering a wide range of publication opportunities and meeting and greeting over 400 national and international delegates!

As with any new event, I have no doubt that there will be some things you will want us to change for next year. We may not have got everything just right this time, but with your help, we will go from strength to strength over the coming years, as we continue to build our conference into a membership-led event of relevance to the wider ISBE community. In this regard, we do hope that you will share your thoughts and ideas with us. All of us have a valuable role to play within the ISBE community, so, don’t be shy; please come forward and lend us your expertise when we are seeking reviewers, track chairs and lots of other “helpers” for London 2010.

Finally, may I take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors and supporters who helped make the Liverpool Conference a success. We simply couldn’t have done it without you.

Dr Colette Henry, ISBE President
