Over a day and a half, expert gender theorists Professor Harriet Bradley (Bristol University) and Dr Fidelma Ashe (University of Ulster) introduced:
Forms of gender/feminist theory (including theory of masculinities)
Gender divisions (including gender practices, occupational segregation, divisions of domestic labour and divisions of power and control)
Understanding gender in terms of individuals, institutions and society via multi-level analyses
GEN Chair (Dr Julia Rouse) and Vic-Chair (Lorna Treanor) and other contributors structured the retreat to help participants think about the implications of each element of gender theory for enterprise research, policy and practice. Both novices and experts in gender theory were welcome. Researchers of men (whether explicitly or in practice) were particularly welcome to join to think about the implications of gender theory for general entrepreneurship theory.
