
The Gender and Enterprise Network (GEN) is a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE). It is open to both ISBE members and non-members.
We aim to:
Promote the creation of scholarly research on the relationship between small enterprise/entrepreneurship and gender.
Facilitate knowledge exchange between researchers, educators, entrepreneurs, small business owners, policy makers and business support professionals interested in enterprise and gender.
Enable the development of gender-aware entrepreneurship policy.
Support the career development of our members.
Contribute to developing the gender track at the ISBE conference.

GEN is committed to facilitating greater understanding of the ways in which gender affects the entrepreneurship experiences of different men and women. Exchanging knowledge with entrepreneurs and business support professionals is an integral part of this process. We are also passionate about sharing our learning with policy makers.

Host seminars and workshops to facilitate research development and networking.
Create and develop an international on-line presence via the ISBE website and establish virtual and physical networks for our members.
Promote and encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing and networking within our membership.
Attract funding to support our activities.
