Lorna Treanor worked for several years as Senior Consultant in an economic development consultancy house in Northern Ireland, during which time she trained and mentored SME owner-managers and delivered SYOB training and support to aspiring commercial and social entrepreneurs. Lorna worked on several EU entrepreneurship related projects and undertook key evaluation and research assignments for the Regional Assembly. Lorna then joined the Centre for Entrepreneurship Research in Ireland in 2006, where she worked as Centre Manager for five years managing a portfolio of National and European projects with a specific focus on women’s entrepreneurship.
Lorna now works as a Researcher in the Centre for Veterinary & Bio-Veterinary Enterprise at the University of London’s Royal Veterinary College, where is also completing her PhD exploring how incorporating entrepreneurship education within veterinary curricula might positively impact women’s entrepreneurship and small business leadership within this feminizing profession. Lorna is also Vice-Chair and a co-founder of the Gender and Enterprise Network, an ISBE Special Interest Group established in 2010 to promote scholarly research into the gendering of entrepreneurship.
