New board members join the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship


The Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) has announced the appointment of four new board members, and confirmed the re-election of three previously serving board members.

The new additions elected by secret ballot and instated at the ISBE AGM held at the 2009 Conference are; Mr Stuart Anderson, Director of Shell Livewire, Mr Rob Edwards the partnership Publisher for Emerald Group Publishing, Dr Maura McAdam, Queens University Belfast and Professor Pauric McGowan, University of Ulster and Dr Geoffrey Whittam, University of Paisley. ISBE is also pleased to see the re-election of four previously serving board members: Professor Clare Brindley, Nottingham Trent University, Dr Denise Fletcher, University of Sheffield, Professor Sue Marlow, DeMontfort University and Professor John Thompson, University of Huddersfield. ISBE’s 24 strong board of dedicated individuals bring a wealth of experience to the Institute.

“We are delighted with the appointment of the new ISBE board members, and indeed the re-election of those previously serving.We are convinced that ISBE will benefit greatly from the diversity of experience and opinions of the new appointees.Each of the new trustees have different and strong backgrounds from a wide range of fields including Business Support, Publishing and Research and will each bring their own individual points of view to help build upon ISBE’s Past success,” said Professor Colette Henry, President of the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

The past year has seen a number of positive changes for ISBE; moving the ISBE office to London, the appointment of an in-house Conference team, the commencement of the RAKE Fund and the launch of the ISBE E-Magazine Enterprising Matters. Over the forthcoming years ISBE is hoping that with the newly elected board members will join the existing board in building upon these developments to ensure that ISBE Continues to grow in a relevant and beneficial direction.
