Our emergent agenda
AMED and ISBE are pleased to run a pilot programme of writing workshops. Together, we’ll be addressing many common problems and satisfactions that academic (and other) writers experience. Quite apart from research-specific challenges, problems can include fear, procrastination, feelings of isolation, lack of inspiration or motivation, perfectionism, scheduling and prioritising our writing, and our inner critic. Perhaps above all, they relate to identity issues – recognising the importance of writing in our work (academics are writers). Satisfactions include developing writing practices and attitudes that afford us greater confidence, pleasure and traction within our respective disciplines.
