This interactive Meet the Editors session offers a behind-the-scenes look at academic publishing, designed to demystify the submission and review process for Gender Work and Organization (GWO). For over 30 years, Gender Work and Organization has been publishing multi-disciplinary, high quality empirical research on gendered power relations, identity, and inclusion. Come along to understand how your gender and entrepreneurship research could align with Gender Work and Organizations purpose and aims.
GWO Editors, Professor Natalia Vershinina and Dr Bronwyn Wood will provide you with an insight into what they look for in an academic manuscript, how editorial decisions are made, and how to position your work for publication. The session will cover preparing a strong manuscript, navigating peer review, responding to feedback, and understanding ethical publishing practices, with some tailored advice for early-career researchers.
The event concludes with an open question and answer, providing a valuable opportunity to ask candid questions about timelines, impact factors, special issues, desk rejections, and “unwritten rules” of publishing.
