ISBE Doctoral Day, Cork 2026

Introduction
The Doctoral day will provide participants with an opportunity to acquire best practice from world leading Entrepreneurship academic scholars plus network with Doctoral peers and build their own research networks. Most importantly, the doctoral day will offer attendees the opportunity to “test” their doctoral concepts within a supporting academic environment. The doctoral day will also offer students the opportunity to present their research to entrepreneurial academics and receive detailed verbal feedback. In addition, doctoral day participants have the option to submit a poster that summarises their doctorate to date and obtain feedback from several academics. This Doctoral day is suitable for all entrepreneurship scholars at any stage in their Doctoral journey. Attendees can also attend the day without presenting a paper or submitting a paper. The doctoral day will consist of the following core activities:
PhD Paper Presentations
Doctoral day attendees are invited to present aspects of their PhD study during the Doctoral day via a PowerPoint presentation. Participants have the option to present their work during a 15-minute presentation. The presentations will be made to experienced Entrepreneurship academics. It is critical that participants attend their identified session in a timely manner as the schedule for the day is packed and there is no flexibility to rearrange. There will be prizes for best paper presentations and content. Doctoral day participants can attend the doctoral day without presenting their doctoral research.
PhD Poster Competition
Attendees are invited to submit a poster as part of the Doctoral day. Attendees can discuss their doctorate through their poster with academics and fellow students. The poster will be ideally presented on an A3 sized document and should provide an overview of the aims and objectives of the study, the key literature, the methodology and the likely contribution to knowledge. A certificate will be awarded for the best poster in terms of imaginative design and critical content. Please bring a paper copy of your poster to the event if you wish to participate as we will display it during the event. However, participants can attend the day without submitting a poster.
