ISBE member Adrian Ashton has been honoured in the 2023 Gamechanger Global Awards for his work in progressing and challenging understandings about imposter syndrome
In 2022, ISBE member Adrian Ashton published his research into imposter syndrome in the form of a pocket book (which has gone on to be sold in 5 different countries, and become an international best-seller for self-published books). His findings, which challenge many accepted norms about the topic, have been recognised in the global Gamechanger awards for 2023. In never having intended to even write a book in the first place, let alone self-publish one, has meant that Adrian continues to be amazed at the outcomes of having done so:
“I’ve started to hear from PhD supervisors about how they’re using ideas and approaches from the book to enable graduates to take their research further than they would have otherwise; and learnt the book has been showcased as best practice in a national report on resilience in small business – this award further shows how far more people feel affected by self doubt than might feel comfortable admitting to publicly, are desperate to find ways to explore and manage it, in light of resources available to them perhaps not being that ‘fit for purpose’ until now?“
