New publication explores design-led, work-integrated learning for ethical, sustainable, and innovation-focused leadership development.

I am delighted to share the publication of my latest article, Strategic Innovation by Design in Dual Higher Education: Embedding Ethical, Sustainable Leadership Through Work-Integrated Postgraduate Learning.

The paper explores how design-led, work-integrated postgraduate education can cultivate ethical, sustainable, and innovation-focused leadership capabilities in an increasingly complex and uncertain world. Drawing on the Strategic Design and Innovation module delivered on the South East Technological University (SETU) MBA programme, the article examines how experiential learning, reflective practice, and transformational projects can bridge the gap between theory and practice.

The publication highlights how responsible innovation and design thinking approaches can support leaders in addressing organisational and societal challenges while developing the capabilities needed to lead meaningful change. The paper contributes to ongoing discussions around entrepreneurship education, innovation pedagogy, and the development of future-ready leaders across SMEs, industry, and higher education.
