Adrian Ashton’s latest annual impact report on his business is now recognised by an international standards body
ISBE member Adrian Ashton’s latest annual report on the impacts that his business creates, highlights how the framework he has designed for it (which is intended for enterprises of all types, and requires minimal investment or resource to adopt) is now recognised by Social Value International (SVI) as a model of best practice.
SVI is the leading global network for reporting impact, and is responsible for creating and reviewing the universally agreed principles of social value reporting – which offers consistency and assurance across different and varying standards and accreditations in the ESG reporting field.
This year’s report is the 19th consecutive annual publication, and in reflecting on it Adrian has argued that understanding how impact is created by a business should look to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs model. Specifically, he draws a parallel that if a person or organisation cannot satisfy their basic human needs, then they will not be able to engage in any activities or services that would otherwise elevate them and benefit others. And meeting such basic needs starts with having access to toilets and hygiene.
