The ISBE 2025 conference in Glasgow hosted a successful roundtable on “The Present and Future of ISBE’s Impact on Policy and Practice”, chaired by Dr Endrit Kromidha, Vice President for Policy & Practice. The session brought together a diverse group of ISBE members and partners to reflect on ISBE’s growing influence and explore new ways to strengthen engagement with policymakers.
Participants welcomed the significant progress made to date, including ISBE’s expanding network of 732 members, over 35 events and workshops since 2024, and the exceptional growth of the Entrepreneurship Policy & Practice Insights (EPPI) series, which has now reached more than 130,000 views. These achievements were recognised as a strong foundation for the next phase of ISBE’s policy impact.
The discussion focused on how ISBE can deepen its role as a connector between research, policy, and practice. Participants suggested establishing a more systematic approach to tracking policymakers’ needs, aligning them with ISBE’s extensive research expertise and its active Special Interest Groups to increase its visibility and responsiveness across the UK’s policy landscape. Several attendees volunteered to contribute directly to ISBE’s impact agenda. Offers included writing new Entrepreneurship Policy and Practice Insights, joining the reviewer pool, or help with policy-facing networks to strengthen ISBE’s national and international reach as it continues shaping evidence-based policy and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems.
