ISBE is delighted to announce the re-appointment of Co-Chairs for the ISBE Rural Entrepreneurship Network (REN) Special Interest Group (SIG) for a further three-year term.
Please join us in congratulating Dr Robert Bowen, Senior Lecturer in International Entrepreneurship, Cardiff University, and Dr Peter Gittins, Lecturer in Rural Enterprise at Leeds University Business School, on their re-appointments.
We look forward to working with Robert and Peter as they continue to lead the REN SIG, fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and supporting excellence in rural entrepreneurship research, policy and practice.

Dr Robert Bowen, Senior Lecturer in International Entrepreneurship, Cardiff University
Dr Robert Bowen is a Senior Lecturer in International Entrepreneurship at Cardiff University, and has previously held academic positions at Swansea University and Aberystwyth University in Wales, and the University of Nantes, France. He also currently holds a position of Visiting Professor at Audencia Business School in Nantes, France. Robert undertakes research into rural enterprise, regional development, and SME internationalisation, with a specialisation on the food and drink industry, having published in a range of international journals, and presented his research at the Welsh Parliament, House of Lords, and European Commission. He currently holds positions of co-Chair of the Rural Enterprise track at the annual ISBE conference, co-Chair of the Rural Enterprise Network Special Interest Group, and co-Editor of Regions, an online publication of the Regional Studies Associations. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Dr Peter Gittins, Lecturer in Rural Enterprise, Leeds University Business School
Dr Peter Gittins is a Lecturer in Rural Enterprise at Leeds University Business School. His research focuses on rural entrepreneurship, farming, sustainability and the challenges facing rural businesses and communities. Drawing on his own farming background, his work explores how farmers respond to economic, environmental and institutional change. He has published in leading rural and entrepreneurship journals and leads international research and knowledge-exchange projects.
I am delighted that Rob Bowen and I will be continuing as Co-Chairs of the Rural Entrepreneurship Network. We look forward to growing the field, building new collaborations, encouraging thoughtful discussion, and supporting early career researchers and PGRs through our events and conference track.
